An Italian, a swedish and a french having fun somewhere between tacos food stalls, crystal blue waters and levelled pyramids...

Hello dear all,

First message of a long serie I guess. Hope you guys are alright in our cold and unpleasant Europe.. :)
I'm on an island close to Cancun (Isla Mujeres) at the moment where I'm discovering my new solo-adventure as I just left my two friends, Ayda and Matteo, at the airport earlier. The real show starts now... haha....

We've been driving all around northern yucatan for the past 12 days. Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Coba, Valladolid, Chichen Itza, Merida, Cancun, Isla Mujeres.
Ayda was asking me earlier today, what was for me the highlight of our trip?
Even though I thought the day we spent nearby that beautiful Maya site (Chichen Itza) was out of this world, I would join Matteo in his vision of the damn thing, "there can not be one best moment of all, the entire journey was just terrific"!
We managed not to damage the car, not getting seriously food -poisoned or even getting robbed by some chavy "Lotus Rojos" cartel members...
And instead we :
- Had the best meals ever. I almost forgot before going that Mexico is a total food heaven. I had the best Burritos, discovered the magical freshness of Ceviche (marinated sea stuffs), enjoyed grilled whole (backyard) chicken for 4 Dollars + plenty of delicious Tacos, exquisite Salbutes and palate-blowing salsas..
- Stayed in beautiful places. From low budget Hotels, backpacker friendly Hostels to jungle camps, we never had something to complain about. There was always a massive swimming-pool or the sea nearby.
- Discovered a beautiful country, with its friendly and sort of welcoming citizens, its almost intact Maya Ruins and its nature. The waters here are so clear that Mauritius, Guadeloupe or Greece look ugly next to it.
-Laughed. We laughed freaking a lot. I rarely had so much fun, being only three persons during 12 days.
Thank you guys. Will miss you...

I'll post some pics tomorrow or Monday for you to have a clear idea about what's going on here.

I'am now waiting for Eva, another friend that some of you I'm sure know well. She's going to do a part of the journey with me. We will be heading to Belize and Guatemala hopefully next week-end...
