Guatemala, here I come !
Dear all,
Things are getting serious now as we're going to cross the first border on Saturday or Sunday.
I've changed my mind regarding going to Belize (nice but freakin'expensive country) to access Guatemala by the east side as it seems quite easy to cross from the north, directly from the beautiful region of Chiapas (Mexico) we I am enjoying very much at the moment...
But let's go back a few days earlier :
I spent 10 days on Isla, amazing place where you´ve got anything that could easily please anyone.
Nice hostel (PocNa) with great, lively people, savoury food from all around the globe, the most beautiful beach I ever seen (Playa Norte), good quality live music every night, street basket-ball with the locals when the sun goes down, sipping beer, exchanging with the travellers and the gorgeous argentinian ladies...
After a quick lunch at Los de Pescado (the Mexican food Meccah, ask Ayda&Matteo), Eva and I took a night bus to Palenque, first big city in the region of Chiapas (southern Mexico).
12 hours and we found ourselves in the jungle.
It was going to be a nice day but a freezing cold shower got my back and my right shoulder completly blocked. I had to stay in bed almost the entire day, swearing at me 'cause I had forgotten that bloody Tiger Balm !
Anyway, the day after, we woke-up early and walk down to the jungle where we found a magical, colourful water-fall.
The locals timbers supplied us with the region speciality, hallucinogenic shrooms, and, after half an hour wondering what the hell am I doing chewing unpleasant stuffs?, I got to experience something really deep.
It all started with visions of natural beauties around me and a feeling of really strong love. Then, I was walking without shoes, almost naked in the jungle, going flick-flock in the river, like a child, playing with stones and smiling like a freak. I stayed about 6 hours (4 hours alone) by these water-falls, wondering around and having the strong feeling that everything (human, nature, earth, sky, sun) is well-connected. I was making really loud and strange sounds like "oooooooooooooooh" and "aaaaaaaaaaaah" from time to time and it was like the forest was answering me. I felt grateful for everything I had that day. The whole thing might sound pretty fuck-up but I'm glad I tried it. It was by far the most intense experience I ever been through.
When I got back to the camp, I had a massive meal and went to bed early. I was exhausted...
As it rained all night long and it was still raining in the morning, we decided to make a move earlier.
5 hours bus drive took us to San Cristobal de las Casas.
This colonial city is absolutly beautiful. We all felt a really good vibe on the first night...
We are going to chill a little here before going to Lago de Attitlan in Guatemala next week.
I hope you guys are all good.
Love

Chillaxing at Poc-Na Hostel
¡ Buen Dias todos !
Life is sweet. I'm discovering not having to do anything...
Being on an island, it's like a rebirth. You change your rhythm, everything is slowing down, you think less, you enjoy much more.
I had my first spanish lesson yesterday. Still struggling though...
After a few conversations with the guys, I decided to make a move to Belize on Monday.
We´ll see what happens there.
Eva is coming tomorrow evening. I hope you guys will like the pics...
